In a series of four articles to be published in the newsletter of the International Movement against All Forms Racism and Discrimination (IMADR), the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre Researcher and Representative for Japan and Korea outlines for Japanese companies the need to abide by human rights standards, and uses real life examples to illustrate what that looks like in practice. The articles will appear from late 2015 through mid 2016.
IMADR is an international human rights NGO founded in 1988 by one of Japan's largest minorities, the Buraku people, and has grown to be a global network of concerned minority groups with regional committees and partners in Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America. IMADR’s International Secretariat is based in Japan, and the organisation maintains a UN liaison office in Geneva. Its newsletter receives wide distribution, including in over 100 companies in Japan.
