Climate Change and the Courts

The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21/CMP11) will be taking place in Paris from 30 November to 11 December 2015. It will be the 21st yearly session of the Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the 11th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the 1997 Kyoto Protocol (CMP11): http://www.cop21.gouv.fr/en/cop21-cmp11/what-cop21-cmp11.  The conference objective is to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate change.   UKELA, PEBA and ALBA are putting on an event to coincide with COP21/CMP11 to look at climate change and the courts, considering what is the future role of national courts, lawyers and the rule of law in dealing with climate change issues.
