Identify the human rights risks and impacts of your business and strengthen your management systems
Businesses operating globally are facing the challenge to assess and manage the impacts of their operations and business relationships on people along their value chains. Increasingly, governments, investors, business partners, civil society and consumers expect them to have human rights due diligence processes in place to know and show that they respect human rights. Respecting human rights is not only a moral imperative for business but also holds opportunities for improved risk management, securing supply and future business opportunities for example in emerging markets. Respecting human rights is a core element of social sustainability and corporate responsibility in line with the ten principles of the UN Global Compact. The UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights are the globally recognized implementation framework for this responsibility.
